I need help on my vert when I bought it it was missing the manual release stuff for the top so I got another one now but the holes don't line up on the tonneau with the rocker hinge. I can get a pic if needed to better explain.???

Clear as a 15yr old Plastic Vert Window...
I'd like to help with this but I'm not real clear on which parts you are referring to... The Tonneau release, or the Release that secures the top down on top of the Tonneau...
More info please!

here are a couple pics of what I am talking about. I don't know if it might use the cable setup instead. The tonneau looks original. The car has a Cheap Maaco job thanks to the previous owner. but the underside of the tonneau matches the factory paint code.

I have some books and stuff at home that I don't have access to here at work. I'll take a look tonight.
In the meantime - Does anybody else have any ideas?

OK, I finally figured out what I was looking at. You have one of the cars that has the push rod linkage to release the top from the tonneau...
This Link Might Be Helpful
If it weren't too much trouble to do so I would probably look into converting this to the Cable type - but that's just me. It might be that there were diffrences in the mounting of the rod type release part that you have that would account for the holes not matching up.
I really don't know much about the pushrod type release. All of the Camaro Verts that I have been around used the cable...
Good luck!

I'm in for learning here. I was going to guess different designs amongst the years. Which is basically what speed said.
Speed, does your info say what years the designs were switched?

the type I have was used for 87 and some of 88 that is it. then it switched to cable. I need to see a cable type to see if it might be narrower and someone just had this tonneau painted. If they did it matches the engine bay perfectly.
