Re: Your Convertibles
Thanks Dennis-Z28. Yes, the car is one of 104 Firebird conversions by ASC in 1988, but I'm unsure as to how many were GTA's? Anyways, from the research I've done, it looks like ASC made 3 Firebird "test" conversions in 86 and then started converting new factory t-top cars for customers from 87-89. None were offered in 90, and 91 and 92 were offered as "factory" ASC convertibles.

Re: 1992 Firebird Convertible
I am shocked that I never posted pics of my Formula 350 Convertible in here... I know I have in other threads...
It is one of 42 FORMULA 350 Convertibles, someone wanted a better breakdown of the cars and I have done it (as most of you know)...
In all About 190 Firebird 350 cars were made NOT 50 as has been stated by others. I have literature from ASC claiming that only 10 Formula 350 verts were made in 1989, and I have a positive identification of 8 of the 42... So I suspect that ASC may have released a statement saying that there were only 50 350's made for one reason or another, it is not clear why.

Re: Your Convertibles
This is my GTA Convertible. Started life as a T-top and then the ASC convertible morph. The original cost was 22,053.00 plus the extra $5,300 for the top.
$27,353.00 Man that was alot of money in 1989!!!
My question is, were all 5.7 350s called High Output?
and What is the Special Level III Performance suspension?
My car also has the Ronal 17" X 9.5 wheels on the front and 10.5" on the rear.

Since you have a GTA, you have the Special Level III suspension. Also called WS6, it included Gas Filled shocks, a 36mm front and 24mm rear sway bars, a fast ratio steering box, 16" wheels, 245/60ZR16 Tires. All GTA's & Formula's got WS6, not all Trans Am's however got WS6.
You have a PM.

Re: Your Convertibles
Its printed on the original window sticker as High Output 5.7, his was not. You would think they would all be printed the same. It comes up different even when the insurance company looks up the vins.

The VIN will be the same, no matter what the window sticker says, High Output or not.
I see your in WA, was your car a Canadian car? It may explain the difference.

Wifes 1990 IROC convertible with newly installed Borla exhaust and SLP 17" rims / new Dunlop rubber.
http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/m...Pwheels003.jpg
I thought the new wheels would fill the wheel well, but the plan backfired. Need a set of lowering springs to give it a decent ride height now.

Re: Your Convertibles
Another 20th Anniversary IROC. Thought I was special til I looked through the list, but am still proud of the old girl. Pictures may be a few years old, but the car still looks the same with one exception. I ended up getting tired of all of the stupid tickets for not having a front license plate, so I ruined the front end by putting a bracket on it
I even threw in a picture of my "glove box" at a friends request.
