Sold a part to this punk a couple of months ago and because I was leaving out of town at the time, sent it to him ahead of his payment. Shame on me, and although not a high-dollar amount, he still hasn't paid. He's a loser, so if you sell anything to him, make sure he pays first. Lesson learned for me...

It's a sad state of affairs, but you can trust no one anymore. At least as a seller you have some protection, always cash first. The anonymity of the web makes this too easy to happen. Pay with a credit card that has fraud protection if you buy. Have your paypal account paid through such a card. Save PMs and emails till you get your stuff. When you send money make sure it is listed as paying for goods or services. I have bought a few things on here and have had nothing but good experinces so far. But I am always expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

Paypal does very little outside of ebay for these matters. That is why I said pay paypal with a fraud protected card. Have proof of what the transaction is for. Dont take my word as gospel, but I'm just saying protect yourself in every way you can.

You misunderstood me, The method of paying the paypal bill should be taken from a protected card (i.e.; visa,mastercard with fraud protection), not directly from a bank account. This way, if paypal backs out on your claim you have the credit card provider for backup. Can you get your money? IDK I've heard horror stories about paypal outside of ebay. All I can say is file fast. 30 days and you can't file a claim.

Just soeverybody knows I didn't screw this guy out of 630 sent half back when he start threating me because i didnt send out first day told him I didn't need his crap when he could stoped going crazy I would send the rest . He freaked out when I didn't send it the first day and started texting me he was gonna come to my house and kill me and beat my *** and the guy on ls1 tech is being paid back at the time he didn't know I was laid off.so I have now a lawyer and I am getting this guy for slander threats etc

Coming from non biased view, you are wrong in at least three ways in this dealing Justin.
1) For whatever reason, you did not pay first for the product
2) For whatever reason, you agreed to pay more than you could.
3) Worst of all, you tried to punish a guy for wanting money for what he sent you in good faith which, unless I am mistaken, you still have posession of.
Regardless of what claim of defamation you think you have, you do owe the balance of the bill. The honorable thing to do would be to pay the man or return his stuff. Then take whatever legal action you feel you need to.

Sorry joe I have not bought anything from Anybody he sent me money for a item started threating me after the first day I didn't have a tracking number I'm not gonna be threatend by some ****ing ******* for no reason.i sent him half back sent the email where paypal only let's me send 500 a month so I can't send him the the other 400 back. Till the end of the month. So I confused on what gives him the right to contact my wife etc... Saying he's gonna come beat my *** I have all the texts from and the ones he sent my wife on Facebook I am no thief his part is I my garage but I will not be talked like he as talked to me he can go **** himself ps learn how to spell

Sorry I was mistaken, he said he had the same thing happen as the OP (sent stuff before getting payed) It's not possible to give a refund on a payment? I think that would trump any limit set by paypal since the payment was more than that limit. But in your own words you said you wouldnt pay until he acted in a way you thought proper. Thats pretty shady.

So you have a man out $230 because of your mistake any way you look at it. You have to understand it is hard to send money and count on someone being honest. I can say I would be pissed as well, As far as contacting anyone he can try and get some resolution from, I can understand it. If he came with threats it sure wasn't right to do so. But he did put out a tidy sum, and I could see getting out of hand. Iam sure you can do a partial refund because I just got one today from a purchase i made two weeks ago (one item was damaged of three). I say you try your best to resolve this and the two of you let byegones be byegones. Move on with it and stop the banter in forums.

A LOT BIGGER risk is being the seller.
There are some shady buyers too.
I was involved in all this before PayPal was ever aroud. It was postal M.O. and this was a lot less common than now. Use PayPal or Postal M.O., PayPal cannot go after mail fraud but Postal M.O. are dealt with daily.

I don't see how its a bigger risk being a seller. Get the money first, only accept paypal, only send to the verified address on paypal. Tracking number verifies shipment delivered.
When you're a buyer, you put money out and pray it's not a scammer until you get the delivery. There is even a worse aspect, but I really dont want to give any potential scammers any ideas.
