Keep an eye on the cars for sale thread, you will find one. I bought an 85 Iroc with 600 miles on a rebuilt 350 high performance motor, new paint, new brakes, new posi rear, new clutch, etc for $850 but I had to fly 2000 miles to get it and drive back home. Good luck

Car: 1989 RS
Engine: 2.8 V-6 (for now)
Transmission: 700 R4
Longshot but I'll post anyway

Time,
I am in Philadelphia and selling a 1 black 1989 RS that has had a number of modifications to make it appear and handle like an IROC including the TDS Lower frame Brace similar to the IROC's wonderbar. IROC 16x7 Rims, the IROC Grid tailights, KYB AGX adjustible struts up front, TDS solid 23 mm sway bar in the rear with the 1LE links kit, I have the IROC door decals, but they are not on the car. The front bumper/lower air dam has been replaced and repainted with the matte black headlight wells. IROC appearancewise, all this car is missing is the louvered hood, the stripe that goes around the body, and the foglight grill.

The engine is 2.8 V-6 with almost 115K. The intake has warped resulted in an oil leak at the intake gasket. It uses approximately a quart to a quart and a half every 1000 miles or so. This is the car's only major defect and if the oil level is monitored closely, it runs without problem. The 700R4 Auto Trans was rebuilt @ 81K by AAMCO and still shifts crisply. Up until two weeks ago, I was logging 400 mi a week in this car and it performed well.

Interiorwise, the headliner was professionally replaced and numerous other components have been replaced by me including the front and back seats, arm rests, under dash panels, door sills etc. leading to what I would call a fair to good interior that could use new carpeting.

The body is fairly straight, no underbody rust and only minor rust on the top of the front windshield that also leaks a small amount of water into the car. The rear bumper cap is damaged but a replacement cap has been purchased. The paint is another one of the car's low points. It is black repaint over the factory pewter. The coverage is good; it is not peeling, but it is fairly oxidized.

What this car is is a good car for someone who has a good engine in need of a home and willing to repaint, though the paint as is is servicable. Well I've told you, and everybody else out there a good deal about the car. I would take $2500 for it with a few extra parts thrown in.

No problem Time. I knew what I had to offer was not exactly what you were looking for, but it was close enough to try. Good luck finding your IROC
