What kind of gas mileage with a holley 700 double pumper?
Im building up a new 350 right now for my car, and im on a budget. The guy whos helping me with my engine has a holley 700 double pumper thats been used by his step brother, but is rebuilt and in great shape that hes giving me for $75. I know the double pumper is going to be a gas hog, but how bad are we talking? Should i expect 8mpg, 10, 13, 15??? I dont know everything well be using yet, but most likely a performer rpm intake, sbc heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, and 60cc chambers. So compression will probably be high...like 11 something. And it will run on 92 gas. What do you guys think?

It will depend a lot on how you drive, what kind of heads you have (new good combustion chamber design or old and bad) How good is your ignition, headers, tranny, rear-end gear and a lot of little stuff. If it's jetted right expect about 14 on the highway, maybe 18 with overdrive and keeping it out of the secondaries. in town 10 to 12.

It also depends on the list number of the carb. A 700 cfm carb could get worse gas milage than a 850 depending on the particular model. Some are designed for street use while others were built strictly for the race track.

First you need to get it running. 11 something compression on 92 gas won't work well. Then, it depends on how you drive it.
