Well, I dont have any info on the Holley carbs, But Could someoen give me a P/n or something So I can look into these myself ?

I would guess that Most likely the MC solenoid is Not used on these carbs and that they use traditional jets, wich is why only the TPS would be connected...

I don't know much about Holley besides they use a lot of fuel. I do know that Edelbrock makes a direct q-jet replacemant but it is expensive. It would actually be cheeper to go with a regular carb and a vacuum advance distributer. I just swaped my q-jet for an Edelbrock 600. If you expain what you are asking a little clearer, I might be able to help you.

Hate to jump topics but Chris, how do you like the Edelbrok 600 you got? I have a Holley 600 and yes it sucks gas real bad on my engine, check "Why's my engine sucking so much gas...?"

Chris, the Edelbrock q-jet is not electronic. It is only a replacement for pre-computer vehicles.

Back to the topic, I've never heard of a Holley carb that had TPS. Not that they never existed, just that I haven't heard of them. Also, if they only had TPS, you'd still get computer codes because the ECM is looking for an MCS.

true 57kid,but they do call it a replacement.I just got a e-mail back from holley saying it does work.He didnt explain the connections though. He said he would send me the instruction sheet.I would think it would use the mcs and not the tps,I dont know.o-well I will stick with what I know works and will pass inspections.thanks

zee, could you post exactly what they said? I probably wouldn't go such a route, but I'd be interested in what they're doing.

If it is a 'replacement' for a E-quad, it MUST have both a TPS and MCS. Period. The computer will throw a code if it's missing either. And i can assure you, holley wouldn't bother making a replacement for such an esoteric carb as the E-quad if it wasn't fully compatible AND emmisions legal, which even if it did say, use a resistor to trick the ECM into thinking there was an MCS, it still wouldn't be emmisiosn legal becuase it would have none of the functionality of the computer adjusting the fuel mixture, and also, would still set a code b/c the computer would be trying to adjust the mixture and would immediately get pissed off that it wasn't able to generate cross counts by doing so.
I think you guys are talking about a holley replacement for a mechanical Q-jet, which do exist and are still in production (my dad put one in his old van a few years back cuz it wa s a cheap replacement.) The one electrical connection you would find here would be the electric choke.
BTW, if holley is telling you it does work then you are definitely NOT talking about the E-quad replacement, they haven't made them in years, and every reputable person i know who has contacted holley about them has been met with 'WTF are you talking about', cuz they don't care about them anymore.
