K&N extreme flow lid?
A friend of mine reccomended me to get a extreme air lid from k&n I was wondering if anyone else had this product. He put it on and I noticed a drop in his time of .15 in his car and asked him what he did and he told me all he did was put the new lid on top of his k&n filter. This was a great drop and wanted to see if anyone else had seen a drop like this with one of these.
His car is a 70 el camino ss with a LS6 Big block:hail: show car that runs 12.70 not bad for a 4300 pound brick

I've got one since I had to use a very low profile air cleaner to make the carb fit under my hood with the blower. It was the only way I could get engouh air flow to feed the motor while retaining a very low profile air cleaner.
If you have a typical 14x3 open element air cleaner with a 1.5" drop base it'll work great. If you have the same setup but with a 2 1/2" filter it will start putting the lid's filter element very close to the floor of the air cleaner, probably negating any flow belenfits from the flow-through lid.
Of course, if you existing filter setup wasn't restrictive to begin with, it won't help at all.

he is running a 3" on a non dropbase setup. I am going to have to run a 2.5" due to hood clearance He has a cowl hood so he could run up to a 4" filter on that setup. Thanks for the heads up on that problem.
