runnning rich?

O.k. here's the deal.I got a fairly built 350 with a single plane and an edelbrock 750 (1411).Now the problem. When I gradually lay into the gas there's little to no change (or a bog) from about 1/4 to 3/4 throttle.WOT is perfect. If I cruise in first (or second) and then floor it when it's at about 3-3500 rpm it almost dies then wakes up and smokes the tires.Any input would be nice.Thanx

Not Rich enough. For a single plane intake change
the primary jets from .110 to .113 and metering rods
from ..075x.047 to .071x.047... Secondary jets may need
to go up 2 sizes too. Accelerator discharge nozzles need to be bigger too. Try a .033" or .043" nozzle.

If you have a fairly radical cam (rough idle), you may need to recurve the distributor with more inital advance 12 to 16 deg
at idle and 32 to 36 deg at high rpm.

Vaccum advance should be conected to "ported vaccum"
on the carb.

Whenever your car stumbles when you step on the gas,
it is lean. usually primary jetting and or accelerator pump
needs attention unless you see black smoke out the exhaust.
Then its either too rich or and ignition problem.
