I took my 92 camaro from TBI to carb, I am at the point I would like to hook up the throttle, but the cable from the TBI is too long and the bracket wont work. Can anyone link me to a product that I can buy to correct this? I need a new cable and a bracket that will work (also a return spring). My cable was 28 inches long, anyone know how much shorter I will need?

Come on now someone has had to take their 92 back to carb and ran into this same issue!

 

Your cable is FULLY compatible with a carb. You just need the right bracket to get the length to match up. I've used a bunch of different ones over the years. If I tell you that a cheap Spectre bracket woked best you'll probably kick me right in the groin. There is NO WAY such a cheap POS bracket belongs under that hood. Fortunately, there are many different ones to choose from.

I'll also mention that it's important to have the throttle cable stud in the proper hole on the throttle arm. This is the proper location for that stud on a Holley-style throttle arm:

 

Which bracket will work? Seems like my cable is way to long no matter what I do. I've modified my bracket no good I've used a older version no good. Just looking for advice on which to buy?

 

I used this bracket, that you can get from Summit or Jegs, and utilized the factory cable, it has plenty of adjustment and should work great for you as well.

This unit is for the Lokar cable but they also produce it for the standard TBI cable.

This is my setup, using the factory T.B.I. Cable, sure you can use an aftermarket Lokar unit, or hit the swap meets or salvage yards for a camaro that came with a carb from the factory, but I feel this is the most simple solution, and it worked for me....

 

1987 was last year camaro came with factory carb(as an option). That's were you'll have to look for a used setup. pre '87

I used the Holley throttle cable bracket with factory TBI cable.

 

I've got the same bracket on my '91 RS and it works great. For the money it's a great piece.

 

.... just put the throttle cable stud in the right hole. That's not where it belongs. See my pic, above.

I'm still having this issue... Tried many brackets setups with my tbi cable. Nothing worked

 

This particular model bolts exactly the way you see it, and fits perfectly!

 

The same bracket works fine for me
