car sitting awhile. what do I do?

So I just bought an 86 Z28 and its been sitting 3 years. I was able to drive it home but not well. I changed the gas and the carb still has a pretty large flat spot and its rough to start. Aside from changing the necessary fluids in the motor what do I do to get the flat spot out? Thanks guys

Lots of things can cause a flat spot, but it's likely the accelerator pump. Look down the top of the carb on the primary side and you should get a nice strong stream of fuel. A full rebuild would be a good idea after a long sit anyway. Ignition components are likely corrroded also.
