Re: painting carb
i painted mine black at one point. cheap rattle can black. the spilled gas from changing jets and tuning ate the paint off in under a week.

Re: painting carb
i know some companies now sell colored anodized carb parts. i dont see how powder coating the outer parts would adversely affect the carbs operation. and it would probably hold up better to gas than paint.

Re: painting carb
Powder coating isn't any better. It's highly permeable and soluble in gasoline.
You might try ceramic coating such as Jet-Hot; or, Eastwood (I think that's who it is anyway) sells the stuff to put the same type finish they came with when new.

Re: painting carb
i was gonna say look into ceramic coating, but if you look at sites like holley/quick fuel etc they anodize the metering plates like travis said only because they are aluminum.

it looks as though many people use powder coat on it more than ceramic. google search it and look for answers on other forums
