TPI to Carb return line insight

My 89 GTA was converted to carb from TPI. Now has a external electrical fuel pump letting out about 7 psi. I only have one line coming from the pump (near the tank) and that's it. I can see 2 lines when i get under the car and look towards the tank, metal ones just sitting there. Not connected to anything. What would I need to do to bring back a return line for my carb setup? Thanks!!

You would need a return-type fuel pressure regulator.

Out of curiosity, was the TPI in-tank electric fuel pump removed?

Re: TPI to Carb return line insight

Hmm. So would it be a tough job?

And yes, the in-tank pump was removed.

One of the lines should be your factory return line, which you could use. What pump are you running?

I still have the line that runs up into my engine bay for the return line. And it goes all the way back and up into the tank. Not sure who makes the pump, would have to crawl up under there and look. It came with the car when I bought it.

Is it one of the pumps that is factory preset to 7 psi? If so, you really dont need a regulator, but if you want one to tune it back 1 psi or so, or to install a guage, a dead head regulator with no return should be fine. My brother had a dead head regulator on that carb with no problems. It was a Holley blue with the regulator that it comes with.
