Fuel Pressure psi/ Timing
Got a bypass fuel pressure regulator. on my new Lo5 350, .30 over with 86" l98 aluminium heads, a zz4 roller cam/ 1.6 rockers and edlebrock performer intake w/ 750 Edlebrock carb manual choke and serp setup. Just wondering if anyones had this setup and whats a good psi for the fuel pressure reg. and what to set the carb idle screws at right now there at 1 1/2 turns out for initial start up and also whats good for the timing with a 65K HEI dizzy. I've had it started but I had the wrong fuel pressure regulator and it was running to rich and fouled my plugs out and basically just ran like ***.

Re: Fuel Pressure psi/ Timing
Carbs won't reliably take much more than 6.5 PSI or so.
Set the timing for a fully-advanced 34-36 degrees at 2500 RPM or so, and as much vacuum advance as it'll take as soon as it'll take it without pinging under part-throttle acceleration.
Tune the idle mixture just lean of where you have maximum vacuum at idle speed.

Re: Fuel Pressure psi/ Timing
That is very true, esp. under heavy/any direction g-force,
AFB is not an easy bowl to manage.
