New intake having throttle linkage problems...
I just put on a new 2101 performer intake to go with my 1406 carb. I have an 83 Z28 with a swaped in 350 and th350 tranny. I bought the edelbrock 8031 throttle bracket which bolts up and fits fine but my kickdown cable extends all the way and the carb has no smooth movement at all. I am also not sure how to hook up my cruise cable. I have attached some pics for some help with what I am working with. If anyone can point me to the right bracket or another piece that I need or something to get things hooked up right thanks....

Re: New intake having throttle linkage problems...
This is just a long shot, I havent dealt with anything more than a throttle cable in years, but looking at your first pic, it looks as if there may be enough slack in the cables that the bracket can be moved back on the intake. Again, just by visual, I'm also assuming your bracket is mounted on the second to last bolt. At the same time, my depth perception ain't to hot, but it appears the distributor might prevent that from being a valid idea.

I've heard of ppl. cutting the cable and using a "fishing weight"? i think to adjust the cable to the correct length...do a search for TV adjustment and there are all kinds of scenarios.

I have the same kind of setup on my 85 Z28. And from the looks of it you have a different linkage braket from what I have on mine. And I do have a peformer intake with a qjet. There is a thread on here with photos of carbed engines, look there and see how others have it setup.

That bracket is better suited to a TH350. I can't think of any I've seen that would be better that have the cruise cable mount as well.
Try an adjustable-length TV cable... B&M 70242, TCI 376800, Trans-Dapt 8985, or one of the Lokar kits.
