regulator and some randoms questions
ok so I recieved my mallory 4309 in today but it has 4 ports then the bypass?!?! so 5 in total
1- inlet
1-carb with gauge close to carb
1- the bypass on the bottom is the return
the othe 2 just get pluged?
got my cam xe274, if i dont run a stall converter what will happen? I can get a 2200 stall but not sure if i want it it will be daily driven
will the holly huricain intake manifold fit under the stock hood ? with the carb setup? i hope so its already on the way

Re: regulator and some randoms questions
Maybe for 2 x 4 barrel carbs with double pumpers, or for easier hose routing..?..
My Holley regulator has 1 inlet 2 outlets.
1 outlet goes to the carb, a single pump dual feed, the other is plugged until I can get on a lift & run a return.
If I had the 1 you have, I would use the line-to-carb, run a return, plug the unused ports.
IDK about a thread sealer on the plugs--some say use it, some say not to because ALL the fittings are made to a slight taper to create a leakfree seal.
IDK anything about your intake or how it fits under a stock hood.
We have a Summit stage 2 on a Holley carb with a small air cleaner, 9 x 2.
A 14 x 3 if it fits will go on in a few weeks.
What motor are you putting this on?
I'm learning some stuff too, so I can't be much help, sorry.

Re: regulator and some randoms questions
The port on the bottom is for the return line back to the gas tank. Any of the 4 around the sides are for the feed line from the tank. Any of the other 4 ports around the sides are for the fuel line going out to the carb. The unused get plugged.
I'm assuming you could maybe connect your fuel pressure guage into one of the open 2 ports not used, but I don't know - I just put my fuel pressure guage inline close to the carb for the best reading of what the carb is getting.
Don't connect any vacuum lines to the top - it just messes things up (unless you ahve some supercharger or blower or something).
