tbi to carb head, intake help

i have a 350 truck block with 305 vortec heads and tbi in the car now. iam in the process of getting 350 heads soon but for now i wanna convert to carb. now my question is if i make it carb now can i use the same intake for the 305 vortec heads now and in a few months use it for the 350 heads? i believe the 350 heads came off a 87 gta trans am with tpi??

Are you sure your 305 heads are Vortec? What did they come off of? Even better, what are the casting #'s?

If they are Vortec, then no, the intake you're using now will not work with '87 TPI heads (or any '87 heads, for that matter).

Re: tbi to carb head, intake help

3rd gen Fbody heads are not Vortec, so no, it won't swap over. Why not get 350 style Vortec heads instead? Then you can use the same intake for both sets of heads.
