Holley installed

Well I finally got the holley on my car. And got it running. I think the timing is off a little. Go to give it gas and it stumbles then back fires. Also my distributor is making a clicking sound. Gets louder as the rpms go up . Any ideas is it bad?

I having a similar problem as yours with my 750. I think my choke sticks sometimes plus I need to tinker with it some more to get it dialed in all the way

The distributor "clicking" is not normal. Is it a buzzing, perhaps? Check for the cap & rotor properly installed. And, make sure the coil is properly grounded (this is a large cap with coil-in-cap HEI, right?).

Where did you set the timing? 8-12 initial at idle, no vacuum advance hooked up when setting, is a good starting place.

Re: Holley installed

No its a clicking like something is hitting. Yes its an hei cap. I have to get a timing light. Was just turning the distributor till it ran half way decent.
