I get about 27-30 on the highway. I have a 350 with lg4 top end stuff on it, carb, sensors, etc. I get around 16-18 in town. I have a 5spd car though, and that helps. I turn about 1750rpm at 70-75 on the highway.

I get about 24 on the highway, with an Edelbrock 600, on a 350 vortec motor, without running the a/c that is. not bad at all but then again we're still running the highway-gears in the rear. Gonna go back to fuel injection and maybe some 3.08's out back and try to keep the same miles/gallon.

Rebuilt L69 with a 327 Corvette Cam (blame the original owner, just bought it).
Smog Removed
Various Connectors not connected
3.73 Gears
75 MPH trip up and down good sized hills = 17-19 MPG

Original stock L69, ccqjet, 3.73 gears and 700r4 @ 70mph = 22mpg highway.
Newly installed 355 with 3.73 gears, 700r4, and ccqjet @ 70mph =18.5mpg highway.
I'm turning 2600rpm @ 70, thinking of trying a 3.08 gearset to see if I can eek back up over 20.

Re: 20+ MPG from a carbed V8?
I was very slightly over 30mpg on my all extremely highly tuned(stock parts with the exception of dual snorkel aircleaner and muffler from the p.o) 86z28(canadian) 40,000 mile car at sea level.
Can't see a lg4 camaro getting more than this. I spent a lot of time tuning it just to see what I could get out of it performance and mileage wise. The mileage sucked in city driving.

Holly crap!! I gotta know whats going on with my car then, at best i get 10 mpg. I got a rebuilt Q-jet on a new goodwrench 350 crate, and a old and tired th200c trany (no overdrive probably contributes a lot to it)

I got 27mpg in the last trip I took with my 355 Camaro. It had an Edelbrock RPM intake with a 1406 600cfm carb on it. It was stock other than that and the bore. I wish I still had it.
