i might have messed up?
ok i have an 86 z28. i bought it with a blown engine and the tranny needed rebuilt, but the car was in good shape, got the whole car for 500 bucks. so i pulled a 350 out of my 84 corvette and ripped off the crappy crossfire and put the engine in my camaro. i ordered an intake/carb from summit. i got the combo kit, edelbrock performer air gap, and it came with a 600cfm performer carb, all endurashine for 759 bucks. and now i have learned quiet a bit more about cars since then, and i think my carb will not be big enuff for my engine. i havnt got the car running again yet, so i dont know for sure, does anyone have any experience with this setup? also since i pulled the crossfire off, does anyone know if my cam will have a lobe on it, so i can use a mechanical pump, or will i have to go electric?? any help is appreciated.

Re: i might have messed up?
I might be wrong but I think they stopped putting in the crossfire in 84, I'm not sure but you should be able to run a mechanical pump, my question is why would you part out a vette for the camaro don't get me wrong I love my car and would never sell it but the vette would be worth more
Never mind I just saw were the engine was an 84

Re: i might have messed up?
well my granpa was driving my vette becuz is had been setting for a few months and the crossfire **** was missing and spluttering, and 1 of the throttle bodys, or w.e they are on the xfire, was just barely dripping gas in there and the exhaust got really hot and the spare tire caught on fire and burned the car from the back of the doors back before we could get it put out, so i snatched up the engine and put in the camaro. :P

If the intake will mount a spreadbore, put your '86 carb, ignition, etc. on. Sell the Edelbrock carb to somebody who values shine over performance.
If the intake doesn't mount a spreadbore, send the kit back and get a regular Performer intake that mounts a spreadbore.
The issue isn't whether or not the Performer carb is big enough, the issue is it's a downgrade vs. the stock q-jet.
The Crossfire cam should have the fuel pump lobe.

Re: i might have messed up?
ok ty very much for the info, i think its a spreadbore, but im not sure the part number from summit racing is : EDL-20224. i have had the intake for a while so theres no sending it back, and my stock q-jet is all jacked up from the previous owner. ill probly just run the edl for now and then ill have to try and find a used carb or sumthin.
also, i have a wheelbarrel full of holley fourbarrels, is there anyway i can tell what cfm they are by like a number on the bowl or sumthing?

Looks like the intake is a EDL-26014, which will mount either a spread or square bore carb.
For the Holleys, look on the front left corner of the choke tower for a "LIST" number. That will identify the carb type and CFM.
