Carb Problem? Spark Plug Diag Holley 750

need help have a crate 602 motor using a holley 750...spec #80528

Trying to work out the proper spacing beteween carb and intake. solid runner down center of intake, ran a 1'' moroso with 1/4 '' heat blocker , No power, engine fell on face with rapid acceleration, some backfiring...

pulled spark plugs autolite 103 at 40 cap, cylinder # 1,4,6,7 are all black, electrode and perimeter. 2,3,5,8 the electrode is white, ring around are black

is this a result of the carb? if so any ideas?

Thank YOU !

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

I'll have to admit I have no clue what a "crate 602" engine is. Some details (displacement, cam, heads, etc.) would be nice. Did you mean "502"?

I assume this is a dual-plane intake, since the spark plugs you grouped are every-other in the firing order.
