my carb is missing all the vacuum stuff and linkage for the secondarys , my question is can i get ANY q-jet and use it for the parts? or does it have to be the same one i have? all i know about it is, its from a 1977 chevy with a auto trans, non cc. also what goes in the hole on the manifold where the aluminum patch is?

It appears that the choke and everything attatched to it are gone. You should be able to get the parts needed from a carb of similar style IIRC, or you might consider a reman or something as there are alot of missing parts. The block off plate is covering the EGR ports on that manifold.

ok thanks , i will probably just get a junkyard carb because i dont have extra the money for a reman. carb. the car runs good (could be better)as-is so if i cant fix it i will just save for a reman.

Would getting rid of the EGR valve really do anything?

i dont know it was like that when i got it, im trying to sort out all of the half a$$ jobs done on it .
