02 sensor

Im looking at doing a tuneup on my car. Ive heard some 02 sensors are better than others with the ccc q-jet and better mileage and performance. I was wondering what brand I should use?

Re: 02 sensor

Bosch makes a good product,Summit racing now sells Stock replacemet parts for everyday rides, you cant go wrong with Summit, they have a good Tech department also, you should need a 1 wire 02 sensor.

Re: 02 sensor

Ive used Bosch for years in the Fbodys, never had a problem, you may be thinking of a HEATED O2 SENSOR,they are 3 and 4 wire.
Some different brands are,AEM,CATCO,NTK(not NGK)HOLLEY,COMP CAMS,each company makes O2 sensors both ways,HEATED and NON HEATED.
Try one of those companys, but I have bought 1 wire O2 sensors before, and when I pulled them out of the box, they said Bosch ,even when they was from a different company.Bosch is the largest company in the world that sells O2 sensors!!!!

Re: 02 sensor

I always hear a lot of complaints about the Bosch sensors on these cars. A brand new genuine delco AFS20 sensor cost me $12 on ebay a few weeks ago. I wouldn't use anything other than OE.

All the heated O2 sensor does is make sure the sensor is up to temp when the coolant reaches 110 degrees and enables closed loop. It would only improve mileage for whatever short time that the coolant is warm enough but the O2 sensor isn't - which probably isn't happening with shorty headers.

I've been running a Bosch O2 sensor, my wife thinks the car exhaust stinks, but I can't smell it (can't smell much, actually). I haven't bothered to see if another brand is available without going to GM.

Re: 02 sensor

w/ heated O2 my car is heating up faster on cold days and that's nice

I wondered what temp it was that engine coolant had to be before compuer carb had a signal.
