Holley Boosters coming loose? Anyone seen this?
Is it a "common" problem for the booster nozzles on Holley 4150's to come loose? I've never heard of it, but I suppose it's possible.
If it DID happen, is the point of contact between the booster and body, lower than the fuel level in the bowl? If it DID come loose, would it cause fuel to pour into the carb bore?

If it was loose, it would leak air into the fuel path rather than pull fuel into the airstream like the booster is supposed to do.

Someone is arguing w/me that if that booster is loose, that will cause fuel to pour into the bore when the engine is off. I say, if the booster is loose, and the float system is performing and adjusted properly, no fuel will leak into the bore, because the level of the fuel is below that part (port) of the carb.

Kinda along the same lines as people asking if you will drain the oil pan if you just take the oil filter off.
(Hope my previous reply didn't sound terse - it wasn't meant to.)

Nope, it sounded clear and straight forward.
You can read the drivel here if you care...

"Matt L." is ALL about the loose venturi. He's well meaning, but he was steering the OP in the wrong direction, so I (Storm861triple) felt I had to say something.
Thanks again.
