Keeping A/C on Carbed Car
Hi What Do I need to Keep the compressor...I think it's some kind of solinoid(sp) to kick off the compressor clutch at hi rpm...Anyone know

Axle/Gears: 3.42 with auburn and 28 spline axle
corrrect one of te names for it is and idle load compensator factory q-jets had them and they're available aftermarket as well if you look for carb accessories for instance edelbrock has one listed for its perfomer carbs

The idle load compensator, as you call it, is a solenoid that kicks the idle speed up when the AC is on. It doesn't do anything about the compressor being on at high RPMs, as the originator asked.
A simple normally-open vacuum switch wired into the compressor clutch circuit is all you need. When vacuum is high, the switch closes and allows the compressor to run. When vacuum is low, the switch opens and shuts off the compressor.
