Camaro Performance Handbook - CC Carbs
Does this book provide very much information about the cc q-jet powered cars? I am not interested in buying a book that mainly talks about a TPI powered car.

I don't know about that book, but if you're interested in learning more about the CC quadrajets I'd recommend Doug Roe's book and the Haynes manual. These got me going again, and gave me insight how to modify for some performance.

Camaro Performance Handbook by David Shelby:
"LG4 Quad--For performance applications the Rochester carburetor used on LG4 engines, part number 1711478 is a good choice." (insert 2 sentences on emissions regulations)
"Fortunately the LG4 Quadrajet is more than adequate for just about any street performance engine with a computerized engine management system. Typically the only carb modification required is a recalibration of the secondary fuel metering system. For most applications, substituting a set of AH metering rods and a G hanger for the stock components will suffice. (These are the same rods and hanger used in carburetors that are installed on the ZZ3 engine package.) These parts should be available at any carburetor-oriented AC-Delco dealer."
Also includes a referral to HPBooks (CPH publisher) "Rochester Carburetors"
Now you don't have to buy the book. I ordered it sight unseen while I was in Iraq. It's got some pretty pictures but not much good technical data.

I haven't seen the HPBooks "Rochester Carburetors" so I can't recommend it. I have Doug Roe's book and it's a good reference for the mechanical workings of the q-jets but doesn't provide a lot of good reference info on the ccc-qjet workings. I've found more digging through old service manuals and on the internet. The montecarloss site has some good technical articles. Be wary though, there's a lot of misinformation out there.

I recommend against buying the Camaro Performance Handbook. It was probably a good source for ideas, with a little reference info, about 10 years ago. This site and the internet has rendered it obsolete.
I have it, if you don't know 3rd gen.org exists it's a pretty good book, you however are light years ahead. I recommend both of the quadrajet books listed instead.

The Haynes manual is a great reference that shows every step of the way of a rebuild with many photos. It also goes over how to check and setup all computer related sensors. I'd say this is a must for anyone rebuilding/tuning a CC setup.
