TBI to Carb fuel pressure regulator ???
Hey guys, I was wondering where you mounted your fuel pressure regualtors and how you routed your fuel lines? Also, what fittings would I need to get and where could I get them? If anyone has any pics of their fuel system that would help alot.

if i'm understanding you correctly your gonna use a fuel injection electric pump on a carb? it's not gonna work. your not gonna be able to regulate the flow properly. the pressure is too high. a fuel injection pump was not designed to be regulated that low. sick

No, it does work - at least with the stock TBI in-tank fuel pump - alot of carb guys leave the in-tank pump and use it with a return-style regulator. You need a Mallory 4309 FPR, or similar return-style regulator - about $80.
I have my 4309 mounted under the fender bolt that holds the washer fluid tank in place. I put the bolt up from under (outside) the fender, put a washer and nut on it, another washer, the FPR, another washer and another nut. Holds the FPR to the fender (I bent the FPR mount slightly to make the FPR vertical instead of slightly diagonal). I got fittings from Autozone (they have drawers full of fittings behind the counter to sift through) that fit the stock fuel line fittings at the fender, and had hose nipples on the other ends, then I used rubber fuel line from there, into the FPR with fittings that fit it, then rubber again out from the FPR to the carb (with a FP guage inline after the FPR). Sorry no pics.

yea i guess if you used a return style regulator you could. i'm old school i guess. a carb was designed for a mechanical pump and thats the way i build them. if you ask me it's just a way to get out of pulling the tank LOL. which can be a pain i grant you. bought an 85 iroc on time and removed the carpet and found where they had cut a big hole in the back to get to the fuel pump. thats just plain lazy LOL. fyi, that tbi pump will supply a 475 hp motor no problem too...
I am using a stock tbi in tank pump in my 91, that ive never pulled the tank down on. Also using the aforementioned mallory regulator - here's a pic of how mines mounted...
