Throttle cable to short?
My TPI cable was about the right length, but it pivoted on the linkage stud due to the end type. I purchased an '84 305 camaro cable (30.125" length), but the first one broke when I pressed the pedal to the floor. So round 2 yet another '84 cable, this time I checked and I'm reaching WOT on the carb, but the pedal is still an inch or more off the floorboard. I'm using a speed demon DP 750 and the holley throttle/700-r4 bracket. My first thought was that the pedal levers inside the car must have changed but after consulting my f-body part cd they all match up. Which leaves me to the fact it's the cable that's faulty.
The TBI cable is under 30" length according to napa so there wouldn't be a point to me trying that.
Edelbrock makes a universal kit to fix the problem I believe. It's just a small link bar that lets you pick a position for the stud then pivot it till it's tight then tighten it down.
Edelbrock 8012
Has anyone used it? What is everyone else running for cables? Surely I'm not the only one sidetracked on little problems like these.

Ok I tried the edelbrock bracket... very useless. I could get it close, but I want it perfect. 90% throttle with the pedal on the floor is not an option for me.
I bought the Jeg's bracket. Solved my bracket pivoting problems on the demon with the Holley bracket. The carb cable was just about to long. I had it darn near maxed out all the way back towards the firewall and I still only got around 95% throttle with the pedal on the floor. Then I pushed on the throttle arm to check the extra movement and popped another cable. Which didn't make much sense to me as I should be taking pressure off the cable.
I'm beginning to wonder if GM cables are able to support all the pressure. I mean my carb opens easy on 2 barrels but once the mechcanicals start to open with return springs it pushes very very hard.
This time I'm going with a TBI cable off an '88. Autozone didn't carry it and Oreilly Auto Parts says it's special order so they couldn't even tell me a price on it or if they can still even get it. Napaonline has it for $22. But it took them well over a week to ship it out last time I really don't want to wait on it.
Tips on adjusting the bracket to fit the cable without snapping it?
