Throttle cable bracket, tbi to carb

I recently bought a car that was converted over to carb, and the other day when I went to start it the throttle cable bracket that I had didn't allow full throttle. I think if I had a bracket that was extended longer towards the rear of the vehicle it would allow full throttle. My question is, is there a bracket that I could buy, or would I need a different cable? Also do I need an adjustable bracket? thanks in advance, I need to run this thing, I can't wait any longer 2 years is enough.

What carb/intake is on the car? GM made a buch of different brackets so you might have to hit the salvage yards.

Spectre makes one that will work fine. Autozone usually has them. It mounts to the back stud on your carb, so intake does not matter.

I would go with an adjustible bracket. As 85z28Guy suggested get one that bolts on the back stud of the carberator but get the one that you can adjust the accelerater cable on. Thats what I had to do on my 89.

I just went and bought the spectre one today, but there wasn't enough adjustment to take up all the slack. I don't know why it doensn't. Any ideas? I have to buy a new cable anyway, but I don't want to buy the same one. I cut the cable last night because I couldn't wait to start the car. 2 years is too long without hearing that sweeet sound.

Should I buy the carb cable, i'm almost positive my cable that was in it was a tbi cable.
