clicking carb

i bought this 84 berlinetta ,305 carbed when i turn the key i kept hearing a click noise .it does this for about a minute everytime i turn the key to the" on " position. anyone know wtf this is.i usually build dodges.but i like these camaros alot.

This is a good noise! The computer controlled carburetor has a mixture control solenoid. It is NORMAL for it to click in the key on position. If it did not click then you would have to worry!

thats good to hear ,like i said i'm not used to these chevies,i used to own a 88 camaro it was fuel injected and man that thing flew!until i had a fuel pump put in it and 2 days later it burst into flames .it started guess where!!!!
