trouble shooting a holly 1850
Ok I have a a holley 600 m/c and I just rebuilded it with the renew kit . The car is a 85 Iroc with a GM crate motor 260hp 350tq. When I got the car runnig with the 600 it poors rich gases smoke out the pipes . I can barely get it to idel with the idel screw turned all the way in . I set the float's at 13/16 and the accelerator pump with a .015 gap at idel , the fast idel ajust screw's are set at 1&1/2 turns out .The car runs so rough I can not get a real accurate mesurment on the floats (bounce's around too much) I am lucky not to have a toasted roc. It all so dose not backfire .Timeing is on for the car runs great with a edelbrock 650 and it ran even beter with the 600 on it befor it crapet out . When I rebuilt it I was verey thorough as to use the right gasket's .
Where do I start
Can I reuse the float bowl gasket's if I take it apart to get the float ajusted back to where I started .
I need a new vaccaume dighfram did not com with kit will this cause my condition at idel .

Want another one? It's got about 20 hours on it, then about ten years as a paperweight.
Fuel level should be set via the window plugs.
The secondary diaphragm should not have any effect on primary idle.
And that "idle screw all the way in" may be part of the problem if that idle screw is only controlling liquid fuel due to a restricted idle air bleed.
