edelbrock carb problems

I have a edelbrock performer carb #1406 on my 84 Z28 HO. After installing the edelbrock performer RPM power package I was getting around 20 mpg. Now I get less than 10 mpg. I have replaced the plugs and wires and checked the whole ignition system over and everything seems fine. The time has been check and rechecked and all is well there too. There is also no vacuum leaks that I could detect. When I step on the accelerator from an idle the carb bogs and then responses like normal. I have tried to adjust the idle mixture screws and there is not much of an RPM difference throughout the entire screw adjustments. The motor also drops significantly when I turn hard and sometimes it stalls on the corners. Any help that you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Check your float levels to start.

If they're overflowing, yes.
