i'm new in thirdgen forum

hi
i am javier serrano from ponce puerto rico and i have a 87 trans am with a chevy 350ci and a th350 and stock rear end (2.73 )
possi
my question is how much power can i get with my car set up and what time a can get in the 1/4 mile?

my set up right now

gm 357ci block (350ci 0.040 over bore)
gm th350 transmicion
gm 350ci crankshaft
barry grant demon 750cfm
edelbrock torker 2 2500-6500rpm ported to match the heads
gm's #128 aluminum 58cc fully ported heads
1.5 rocket roller (like crane roller rockets)
edelblock valvule covers
msd pro billet distributor
federal mongul hypereutectics pistons
lt-1 stock rods
comp cams camshaft duration int230 exh236 lift 487int 490exh 110lobe
comp cams lifters
comp cams valve spings
felpro gaskets
trans. oil cooler
merlin high v. oil pump
hasting piston rings .040
aluminum crank pulley
gear drive
headmans long headers
3" catback

Welcome aboard.

I've seen worse English from "educated" Americans.

That's a pretty healthy package. Probably well over 350 horsepower. With sufficient stall from the torque converter, 1/4 mile times in the low 13's, or high 12's with better gears and traction.

You'll probably need to stall in the 3000 RPM range. You'd know better if you have a dyno sheet, but without that you have to judge how the engine acts in the car.

You'll know you don't have enough stall if the engine acts a little sluggish off the line until RPMs build up and then it takes off. Mine needed 3000 RPMs even though all of the "powerband" information indicated it should have been less. Relatively small engine is the reason, in my case.

Would he be better off changing the rearend gears, then running the car and at that point making a decision on the converter?
