witch carb?
currently im running a holley 650 double pumper. the accelerator pump is going out so im going to get a new carb. does anyone have any recomendations on witch one to get. i like the holley but it stalls bad on acceleration. are holleys bad about this? my engine is a pretty wild 355 running a 150 shot of nos. ive been told to get a demon. i had an edelbrock but it seemed like i didnt get the same power at high rpms like i did with the holley. any suggestions would be helpful and some part numbers if anyone has them.

If you understand carb basics you can tune this carb. What is the list #? Holley tech is great, give them a call they will be glad to help.Or try to contact RBL69 or 57 kid they have as much info as anyone on the boards. Also do search on your carb problem or your list # and see what that turns up............

If it's a wild 355 with a shot of juice, you should really be using a 750DP at a minimum like the 750HP holley. Very very good carb outta the box and with some minor tuning you'll be going faster than you ever did with that 650DP.

If you want 100% kick in the pants power- mechanical secondaries hands down!!! The 750VS will work, but will not be as performance minded ouotta the box or on top as the DP will be.
The HP series you have picked out for the DP is a perfect choice, kinda spendy when compared to other lesser models, but alot of power to be had from these HP units. The truck is running the 750HP in my sig, I personally run the 950HP. I have'nt had a chance to throw the 750HP on mine to see if any gains are to be had, but I'm making more hp than the trucks motor so I dont think any would be had. The trucks motor dynoed at 555hp/505tq with the 750HP, but the VE% only hit 100% for a short bit and max CFM the motor pulled was only 630cfm, so the 750 is just right. They tried the smaller carb and it lost hp/tq, smae thing happened when they installed the 850 lost hp/tq.
