No PS or Smog pump, what belt?
Hey I was just wondering if anyone here is running a stock serpentine setup without the Power steering and smog pump and the part # for the belt your using? Thanks.

Without the smog pump it's a 96.8" belt with a slightly different routing (which is mandatory- you can't do it without a re-routing). If you take the PS pump off from there I think you're going to be running the belt runs to/from the alternator too close to eachother and they'll hit.
Check out the tech article about removing the smog pump on serpentine equipped cars for pictures of the different routing method. That's where you'll have to START from and then decide if you can bypass the PS pump pulley after that. If so, it'll take a shorter belt that a 96.8" one, but I don't know how much shorter.
Here's where you might have a problem, and you'll have to look at the pictures in the tech article before this will make sense..... you'll have the belt going from the TOP of the water pump pulley to the bottom of the alternator and then back again from the TOP of the alternator to the bottom of the tensioner pulley. Where the 2 parts of the belt come closest to eachother (just above the top of the water pump pulley) it might be a VERY tight squeeze past eachother. Even slight vibrations in the belt while running might cause them to hit and start ripping little pieces of rubber of eachother as they pass.
I know that even with just the smog pump bypassed on mine, and the proper length belt installed, I already get a very slight amount of "belt rub" in that area at very high RPMs when the belt starts to vibrate like a guitar string. It leaves tell-tale rubber dust around the front of the intake and on the brackets around that area.

Ive read the tech article and it has a picture, but it doesnt list a belt size. I already ditched the smog pump now I want to ditch the power steer pump for a manual steering setup and I was just wondering if someone who has done this has the belt size.
