Edelbrock RPM air-gap install

Hey guys ive had a pretty much brand new Edelbrock RPM air-gap sittin in my room since about april and im thinkin about puttin it on in the next 2 weeks weather permitting. now how many people have installed this and didnt have any problems with the brackets mounting up? becuz from what i can remember i think on some cars they had problems with the alternator mounting bracket that goes to the intake. heres a pic of my motor right now and if anyone has done this swap can you point out weather im goin to have a problem or not? thanx.

Only problems I had was that I had to bend the throttle bracket a little. Due to the carbs higher elevation, it was pulling the cable at a weird angle if a didn't "tweak" the bracket a little.

And watch where the upper alternator bracket where it bolts to the intake...I had to drill the bracket hole oblong so the alt. would be at the correct angle. You may or may not see what I mean.

Hope you have a cowl hood, cause I think that's the only way that nice air cleaner you have will work! lol

Overall, no big deal. Nice lookin motor BTW!

If you keep the stock cable bracket, double check your TV cable geometry if you have an automatic.

yeah i have i think a 3'' cowl hood, im not sure on the size since its been on the car for the past 10 yrs or so.

so basiclly the main things i will check for are the alternator mountin holes and the geometry of the TV cable. ill try and snap a pic tomarrow of how its set up at this very moment.

and thanx confuzed about the motor soon it will be replaced with a 496 big block im buildin. im just tryin to go faster with what i have now until that monster will be done.

I installed a Preformer RPM air gap on my Goodwrench 350 in my 1987 Firebird. The only problems I had were with the throttle cable and TV cable already mentioned. I nstalled a Edelbrock 750cfm preformer carb at the same time. It was a HUGH improvement over the factory cast iron manifold and Q-jet.
