charcoal canister hose?

the front port of a holley 750vs carb is a hose from the charcoal canister suppost to go in there? some dude was telling me this.
what is suppost to go in that front vacume hole?

Car: 88 formula WS6

Engine: 305 Lo3

Transmission: 700-R4

Rear port, power brakes. front, PVC. charcoal can uses smaller port on manifold.
