adjusting holley floats #4777

hi i am rebuilding my holley but i am not sure how to adjust the floats. i would like to know if any one knows what to set them at before i put the bowls back on . or is there a seting i cans et them at then fin tune once the carbs on the car ?

an i need to know which way turn the float set screws change the float up or down .

an if any one can give any tips that might help me in adjusting the floats . i would like to hear them .

For starters, set the primary side float down 1/4" from the roof of the float bowl (flip the bowl upside-down and test the gap with a 1/4" drill bit while adjusting). Do likewise on the secondary side but set it down about 5/16". Do final setting on the car using the sight plugs. Note that the secondary side site plug sits down a little further than the primary side- this is normal. Float level should be slightly higher on the primary side than on the secondary.

This will get you PLENTY close for a good first start when you reinstall it.
