Re: Post Your Carb'd Motor Pics
it looks like you run a really tall intake. if you stick with a normal height intake you can squeeze a 3" filter under the stock hood. my pic is an rpm airgap with a holley street avenger carb on top

Re: Post Your Carb'd Motor Pics
This is what my 1984 Firebird engine looks like. Its a 355 with 9.0 to 1 compression. Callies lightweight crank, crower rods, je short skirt pistons, dart 200 heads, .520 solid lifter cam, edelbrock victor jr. intake, QFT 750 carb with E85 conversion kit, msd distributor, edelbrock nitrous with 100hp shot. This engine goes 11.32 @ 121 mph on E85 and 11.61 @ 117mph on 93 octane, The car went 10.70 @ 125 Mph with 100hp nitrous. I didnt have time to shoot the nitrous with the E85 setup. Heres my 10.70 nitrous pass http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O70ewShLG2A

Re: Post Your Carb'd Motor Pics
Hey Grod98, do you plan on racing this at the track and what rpm range is this setup going to run in? My RPM range for my setup is 3500-7000, and I shift anywhere from 6800-7000 rpms. Yours I'd imagine with the tunnel ram would be what around 4000-8000 rpms, but not with a none roller valve train setup as I see that the motor still has the stamped steel rockers and not roller rockers? Although I have not seen too many 383 sbc running that high in the rpm range as I thought they were designed for huge torque at a lower rpm range. I've seen lots of 327(331) and 350(355) make full use of a tunnel ram running anywhere up to 8000-9000 rpm and still be able to drive on the street.

Re: Post Your Carb'd Motor Pics
i shouldnt have issues with mine. i am placing an order today for the correct cam (recommended by comp cams for the tunnel ram), matching valvetrain, pistons, and odds and ends to finish the motor. mine wont see much track time and i dont plan on revving past 6k on the street since mine is a weekend car
