Car: 1991 RS
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: T5
Quick question.
For the guys that swapped out there engines, can you use your stock A/C pulley and compressor? I have a 305 TBI and want to go carbed only, but I want to keep my factory A/C too. Can the stock A/C system hook up to a new carb crate engine?

Well I'll throw mine in here too
Then (L69)
Now (350 4 bolt main bored .030 over (355 ) and other goodies that are in the sig)
A few things have changed in the engine compartment since that second pic, like Edlebrock polished aluminum valve covers instead of the crappy chrome ones and a few other little things, but that gives ya the general idea

Quadgoat, get rid of that POS Spectra fuel filter and pick up something that will flow more. Earlier this season I had one and got made fun of so i picked up a fram filter instead, and guess what .03 to boot.

I might not even notice the difference though since I do street driving and haven't even gotten to take the TA to the track since I built the new motor and put the 6 speed in. I'm also trying to remember, because I'm not sure that mine is a Spectra (or do you mean Spectre?) I think mine's actually a Mr. Gasket (probably the same thing as spectre though lol ) Nobody has ever said anything to me about those filters flowing poorly, but now that you bring it up I will definitely look into it, thanks for pointing it out!

IHI:
how in the hell are you only running 12's when you sig says that you have 950 hp. thats unreal. 950 has to be at least in the low 9's.
EDIT: IM HOPING I READ THAT WRONG AND THAT IS YOUR CARB SPECS OR SOMETHING.
does that mean that you have a carb that flows 950 cfm? because that still doesnt add up.

I cant remember what brand the filter was but it was 3/8 inlet outlet and i never had a problem with flow at 7800rpm so i never worried about it. Im changing motors and adding another fuel system on my car for nitrous over the winter, havent decided on what im going with for a motor yeat.

Nothing fancy, all blue-collar. No trailer queen, driven to the track (and to work when there's evening racing...).

better newer picture:
400 small block... vortec heads, small cam (getting swapped out soon...), other junk...
just before i got into a wreck that bent up my fender and pushed the nose down a little on the drivers side... car's still driveable and mechanically sound... still able to go out and have fun...

Doesn't look as pretty as most of yours, but how many of yours are daily, year-round, all-season drivers?

This is what son used to call ghetto-a$$ 305 going into camaro. He is more reverent now that it has run 8.11 ET @ 85.45 MPH in 1/8th w/1.8554 60'. New 10.5" MT slicks should put us into 7's N/A tonight.

Hey, I know I'm a hack, don't even visit the "Appearance & Detailing" forum. I took that picture last night after driving home through the residual road salt/gravel from the snow storm last week. Pretty much given up on the "show", only have time for the "go".
