Comp Cams 262? Good for my motor
My friend will sell me a used cam(listed above w/ lifters) for 50 bucks. my motor specs are listed in my profile. Its an 88 so its a roller hydraulic and his cam is flat tappet? What kind of gains would i see? hp? 1/4 mile times? Thanks

it's a good idea to shy away from a used hydraulic flat tappet cam. once they lobes mate to the lifters on breakin that's the one they are mated too...
I wouldn't buy it.

you would have to change the pushrods lifters timing chain and cam to go back to flat tappet. i wouldn't do it even if it was free. roller cams are superior to flat tappet. go to www.compcams.com and look at the roller cam profiles and compare them to flat tappet cam profiles.
