More air?
If I were to take off the big air tube going from the front bottom right side of the engine bay (looking towards the windshield) to the air filter assembly, and just let that short part stick out, would i get more performance? I have a 84 Trans Am 305HO

That tube diverts hot air from the manifold into the air cleaner assembly to help heat the car up faster. Id just get a open element if your looking for more airflow. It may not be cold air but its way more air than the stocker lets in.

I think the tube he is referring to is off the valve cover, to releave pressure, as on the other side the equivalent is the PCV.
You can remove it and replace with a breather or leave or what ever, it is routed that way instead of a breather for emmission?
I would go and get an open element for more air in general, or try to find a complete 5.0HO air housing off a Camaro, that way you could have the benefit of a dual snorkle and a functoinal powerbulge hood?
Instead of the snigle feed you most likely have now.

I have the powerbuldge hood, but only a single snorkle. Do you guys think the powerbuldge hoods work good?

Better then just a single snorkle would.
My suggestion would be a HO dual snorkle from a Camaro, then use your lid (if it works) and that way you get the benefits of the cold air coming from the windshield (cowl induction) as well as a dual snorkle and it would look somewhat facotry and give you alot of cold air.

I did just what Drakar said. I modified my single snorkel into a dual like the HO Camaros, then added the functional cowl induction for my hood like the HO T/A's (and some non HO T/A's). Best of both worlds.
I wrote a tech article on it:
