Choke story
ok once apon a time someone told me that the reson my choke light was coming on was cuase of my alternator, alternator died yesterday but the weird thing is today its workin everything is back to the way it was before it died (idles super high, crappy drivin when it first starts choke light comes on and stays on) so i deside to make a kragen run go down there to have my alternator tested not only did the guy have the nerve to say it was working right (heres why i think it was it was producing 14 volt but it was idleing at 1500 rpm!) but he says that he has no idea why my choke light would come on and no idea why my idles that high any insite on whats goin down in my car yo (lol)

I have an 87 T/A. I too have had the "choke light on" problem. The alternator was good as well. I tested the choke Sat with the wire connected and got 2 volts which is N/G. I looked for the choke heater relay in the convienence center and don't have one, check to see if yours is there. The C/H fuse is good as well. Check your choke heater relay and fuse. good luck,Bigbird

Was the fuse in the fuse block or was it an in line fuse? I have all ready checked all the fuses in the fuse block, so its not that unless it is an in line fuse

I figured out what was causing the light to stay!!! Under the dash on the side closest to the radio there was a black box(later learned that it was called the Convience Center) and in that box was a relay for the choke light!! So SuperTrans Man if you don't have your fixed yet try that out. this diagram well help you out:

Niether could I, but it's a Tripod hosting, so it's no surprise. I think Tripod is falling down, probably due to the severe undersize of their middle leg....
BTW - How's it going, Sarge?

Hi ya Vader! Pretty good. I've got your coin on my desk. Just haven't had a chance to get to the post office.
Thanks to Gator for the diagrams. All you guys are awesome!
