help tbi caught fire... thinking of options
look guys try to make it short and sweet... i have a tbi controlled car.. it caught to flames today while getting a dog at the dog pound..
how much $$$ or how much headache to swap from tbi to carb without using any of the sensors.. most of my wires are melted on the passenger side now .. i know i need an (torquer 2) intake and maybe a 500-700 holley carb have to research the size..i need a distributer too and the 3 port fuel pressure regulator.. but will the car operate if i completely take the computer out?? how would the 700r do without the computer?
what happened is my heater came on and wouldnt turn off caught on fire. any help or suggestions is appreciated thanks

I'm assuming it's a L03. You'll need everything you said plus gaskets, bolts, fuel line, and all the other little stuff that goes along with it. We just bought a remanufactured 600 cfm holley carb, a performer intake, a HEI distributor, and a 3 port fuel regulator, total cost for just all that was something like $630. Still need gaskets, bolts, etc. Not a hard swap, just time consuming.

i didnt get a good look in the engine bay, but it did look like alot of my wiring was fried... do you think i need to worry about that wiring since i wont be computer controlled??? What will happen to the 700r it will only be behind the new carbed engine for a little while until save up for a 6 speed.. so many questions right now if the swap happens it will happen soon.. what about my car starting up with the oil sensor and vats??? so many questions..
