Where's Jester? You'd think he'd be in here with his usual comments about Edelbrock carbs. Though, I guess there really isn't anything to say...

Yep these numbers are about what my results were.
One thing though, what were your 60's at with the 600 edelbrock and the holleys?
I had a tenth better 60 footers with the 600 edelbrock than the 600 cfm holley or the 670 SA.
SSC
------------------
85 Camaro, 355/400 "drag car" current DD 13.1@ 101mph on its last season run.
Plans: Possibly add N20 for next season.
82 Firebird, 355/350, as soon as the powertrax gets installed. "dyno time"

Thaks for the results crazeinc. It's always good to see more personal results, even supporting such already widely held truths
I'm actually a little surprised tho the difference wasn't greater. 6/10 is certainly substantial, but I bet there might be more in it. I bet if you play with it a little and try again with better weather, a full second gain is doable.

Guy here, part owner of a muscle car resto/performance shop, showed similar improvements going from Holleys to Demons on 4 different cars/engines; using G-tech for comparisons in the cars, and engine dyno in one case.
Except all Demon replacements were the same type (double pumper or vac sec) and CFM rating as the Holley it replaced, as well as all of the Demons were out-of-the-box vs. tuned-to-the-max Holleys (and he knows how to tune a Holley).
Typical improvement on 396-454 BBC's was over 25 HP. A '67 427 4-speed Vette had so much more low-end torque they had trouble hooking it up with the Demon off-idle while they launched the Holley at 1500 rpm, but 60-foot, 1/4 times and speed still improved.
I think I got the wrong carb for the '57...
