I won an auction for an unfired,375hp 4-bolt 350 from e-bay a couple days ago.Complete from oil pan to air cleaner.It comes with a Carter 750 carb. Since all my other 3rd gens have been fuel injected,I have little experience with carbs.So my question is, is this a decent carburetor? I don't hear about it as much as Holley,Edelbrock,etc.

Carter is a good carb. It would be my next choice behind a Holley or Demon.

What kind of Carter is it? If it's a new AFB, it's the same as an Edelbrock. I wouldn't be surprised if they're even made side-by-side in the same factory.

Give it a try and see if you like the Carter. IF not then go with the best a Holley.

Carter is or was a manufacturer of q-jets... are all carter carbs q-jets? I would say that it is as good as a rochester q-jet and there are few quality complaints... You probably wont notice the difference between it, a demon, holley or edelbrock.

Carter did make a few Quadrajets on contract from Rochester, but they primarily made their own carburetors.
