Aircleaner that won't hit the hood

I have an 84 Camaro with the stock flat hood. I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake with an Edlebrock 600 cfm carb with electric choke. I need an aircleaner that won't hit the hood. Or is there a way to modify the hood(short of cutting a hole) that will allow my setup to fit? Thanks in advance.

That's tight with an RPM- judging by other's experience on this board with that manifold. The shortest aircleaner I think you can get is a ProFlow foam triangle air cleaner. I used one on an 80Z (with QJet carb- don't know if it will fit your carb). I had many moons ago and it was about the lowest profile aircleaner I have ever worked with- maybe 1 1/2" above the air cleaner flange total height.
