aircleaner ?
Will edelbrocks pro flow 1000 fit on to our Q-Jets ? It has an advertised 5 1/4 inch base I think and I didn't know if it would fit. If it does and to any one who has used one did you like it?
Thanx

Yes, it will fit. Q-jets, Holleys, and Edelbrocks all have the 5-1/4" air cleaner mount base.

That's a terrible piece. I knew a number of people when it came out who ruined engines by way of it getting sucked in; and others who had it catch fire. On your car, with a hood, it's going to put the air pickup right at the top, in the hottest part of the engine room. It's not a go-fast piece at all, it's for people who want something that looks cool and don't care about performance (street rods & show cars).

It fits and it shouldn't cause a problem unless you install it wrong... I have noticed no difference between it and a 14x3 open element performance wise... if it were truly problematic, then it would be pulled from the shelves... also, the foam part is good for many thousands of miles... I am perfectly happy with it...

If this is true, the microscopic bits of foam will just burn up and probably won't even see the cylinders...
