Anyone with Aftermarket 4X6 Speakers.

Okay, if you haven't read my other topic, I am looking for a set of 4X6 speakers that will fit in my 92 Bird without ANY modifications. The Camaro has a larger speaker space, so please don't post about how it fit in the Camaro. Anyone who has put aftermarket 4X6 speakers in a 3rdgeneration Firebird, please post!

Firebird space is tight, so concentrate your efforts on speakers with a small magnet. This will pretty much eliminate 90% of the quality stuff out there.

what modifications did you do to the terminal bracket? Also, how are the Polk 4X6 speakers?

Do you really need air conditioning? I put mine in place of the vents. They sound great.

jeff, 4x6's are pretty descent with the bass blockers i put in runnin at 200hz. the mod was breaking off the terminal bracket and soldering the speaker wire to the wires going into the speaker. works perfect .. lvoe em, but i have dj sexays kicks in my garage, just gotta order 6 1/2 coponents for them and the 4x6's are getting cut off

Bose speakers without the bose amp? They're HORRID. The bose amp has a very specific equalization curve designed to eliminate the crap sound from the speakers.

I ran Pioneer TS-A4615's in my 91 Formula and i'm running them in my S-10 also. I really like them and I think they blow away most other 4x6's available.

P.S.- Don't run bass blockers.

I have a set of Pioneer 4x6's, I think they are like 65-75 watt(I really didn't pay atention, htis is just temporary), and they came with the bracket thingie to fit correctly in the 4x6 slot...They work great, no distortion or vibration from incorrect mounting...
