Stereo Stolen...... Alarm Questions......

well they stole my Pioneer DEH-8000 out of 88' IROC. well the alarm i was looking at is the compustar 2000as. it's a two way pager system that alert's you via vibrate mode or audible beep mode. it has a bunch of other modes which are listed on the webpage. well my question is it's $699 installed and am seriously considering it. my 88' is my baby and all the money i have in it, i think the alarm may be worth it. http://www.compustar.org/
thanks for any help.

Well it looks like a good alarm/anti theft system, but you have to ask yourself one question: what are you going to do if/when the pager goes off. Do you go out and confront the thief or thieves beat his or their @$$, what if there are 6 of them ? Do you go out with a gun and shoot them? Call the cops and wait till they come? I don"t know what you look like how big you are or how good you are in a fight so you need to ask yourself these ?s and figure out your answers before dropping that kind of $$$$ on a pager alarm.
Good luck with your decision

If its your baby (like mine is to me) then it is well worth it! I sell security systems everyday, and I have a good friend at another dealer who sells the Compustar and he says that it is the best security he has ever sold. It will be more to scare the thieves away than anything. I had a night where someone tried to get into my 89 Formula 350. They hit the drivers window and broke it and the glass break sensor set the alarm off and they ran off. The thing is i had a broken window, but still had my ride and $8000.00 worth of sound equipment. So I am a firm supporter of security systems! Good luck!

I have crimestopper alarms in my camaros. It's a two way pager fm system. it pages me if it is triggered with the shock sensor or if the door was open. it has an lcd indicator that actually shows the door open, or shock if it was just bumped. i paid under $200 for them, and they've proved helpful so far. i actually chased these 3 dudes one night running away from my car when i didn't hear the alarm it'self going off, but my pager was beeping. it also has remote start, hood switch, trunk pop and other features. for the money, i love this alarm. good luck.
