High pitched noises from kicks?
I just bought a 1989 IROC, and it has Cerwin Vega 6X9s, a Kenwood head unit CD player, the BOSE system, stock 4X6s and kickpanel speakers. The previous owner took the amp with him. My kicks make this high pitch noise, and the 6X9 don't work. Should I just get an amp or is the problem somewhere else?

The stock deck has only four channels meaning it can only run four speakers. Chances are, the 6x9's don't work because they are no longer hooked up.
You should ask the guy you bought the car from just to be sure of what he did. Hopefully, he didn't just splice two pairs of speakers into the front or rear channels, 'cause that would be horrible for your deck.
Regardless, if you have kickpanel speakers you don't need the 4x6's anymore. In fact, they are probably taking away from your system's sound quality and imaging. Hook the kicks up to the front channel and the 6x9's to the rear. I don't know what's causing the noise in the kickpanels, but changing the configuration and the connections will familiarize you with the system and could help you solve the problem.
You could get an amp. It would definitely improve the quality and loudness, but it probably won't solve the noise problem, depending on what's causing it. Try re-arranging the speaker configuration first.
